“The Glory of God is the human person fully alive.”
The Christopher Missions Foundation was established in 2010 as an expression of the sister church relationship between the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Diocese of Miao. Miao is located in a remote region of the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh in northern India along the Chinese border. The Christopher Missions Foundation is based in San Francisco under the auspices of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The Foundation partners with the Church in the Himalayas, joining with the local Church of the region through the Diocese of Miao, in establishing village churches and building parish schools, and providing clean drinking water wells, ministry to at risk women, and economic sustainability projects.
Since its founding, the Christopher Missions Foundation has expanded its range of service to include the diocese of Kohima in North East India as well as helping dioceses in the countries of Tanzania and Uganda in Africa. The foundation has established direct personal relationships with Bishops in these areas and has associates who verify projects funded with on site visits and reports to the Christopher Missions Foundation.
